Fellowships and Exhibition

The museum will honor the artists with the following:

• $25,000.00 unrestricted award.
• The museum will purchase work from the artist for the permanent collection.
• The artist will have full access to the Fellowship microsite including the potential to use the site as their own website downloading images and information through their own URL address.
• The museum will publish a catalog featuring the artists and their work.
• The museum will arrange and pay for shipping the artists work to and from the museum.
• The artists travel and accommodations will be at the museum's expense.
• The artists work will be promoted and advertised to local and national publications.
• The artists will be honored at a special gala evening event.
• In addition to the 2013 Fellowship exhibition, the artists work will be included in an upcoming traveling exhibition about Native American Contemporary art.

Selected Artists

In order to do the best possible job for all artists participating in the Fellowship event, each artist must be willing and able to do the following:

• Provide requested materials such as images, resume and additional information in a timely manner.
• The artist will work with the registrar to arrange the shipment of their work to the Eiteljorg by January 15, 2013.
• The artist will provide an email address and/or telephone number that they check regularly and respond to all communication within a reasonable time.
• The artist will travel to Indianapolis several days prior to the exhibition for fellowship, installation issues and filming interviews
• The artist grants permission for the museum to use images of them and their work in any or all promotional or educational publications.
• The artist agrees to a filmed interview.
• The artist will present their work to the public in tours and/or other presentations.

This is a professional award and it requires a partnership between the museum and the artists. If there are any elements of the above the artist is unable to fulfill the museum encourages the artist to apply to other more appropriate programs.

Submission Requirements

Due to the stipulations of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board Act, artists must include proof of enrollment to be eligible. Enrolled artists from the United States and Canada are eligible.

1. Artists must be 21 years of age or older.
2. Artists must agree to attend the opening activities of the exhibition and participate in the videotaping, media interviews, and panel and round table discussions
3. Each artist's work should convey a mature, professional style that can be identified as his or her visual signature. Elements of the artist's portfolio must include:

• Ten (10) digital images of recent work. Five (5) of these works must have been completed in the last three years and must be available for purchase.
• Numbered image list with dimensions
• Current resume.
• Artist's statement (around 300 words)
• A completed application including all materials must be submitted by June 1, 2012

May include up to four (4) literary materials such as exhibition catalogues, magazine articles or critical reviews. (This is optional.)

Artists must upload a minimum of 1 image. A maximum of 10 images may be uploaded.

Images must be in JPEG format and cannot exceed 2mb in size each.

• Medium (list of all materials)
